Thank you for all your advice and wisdom; most of the success I´ve had in my adult life is because I followed the advice you gave me. Thank you for instilling those values in me. I wish I picked your brain more when I had the chance haha. My mother always spoke so highly of you. It was an honor to have been even a small part of your life.

My deepest condolences to Jim's family. I met Jim when he purchased my company, Boston Analytical, back in 2009, and I was fortunate to get to know him in the years that followed. Interactions with Jim were always fascinating; filled with insights, laughter and his unique way of viewing the world. He was truly a special person, and I will cherish those memories forever.

Brenda and family, you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Jim was an outstanding husband, father, grandfather whom everyone called Da. He was a true friend and always was wonderful company He will be missed by so many! I will miss his lessons in what"not to say"on the golf course and will always remember him fondly .

Our deepest sympathies to the Carlin family and extended family for their loss. We have all lost a truly selfless and generous person in Jim Carlin. He gave of himself not only through his public service, but also in his personal relationships, touching countless lives and shaping many careers.
