Not sure what to say?

Sorry to hear about this. I was just looking at people from when I was at Southern. Your family treat me very special and it was always was appreciated. My thoughts are always with the people that have touched me through my lifes journey even if I don't see them as much. Take care and sorry to hear about JR's passing.

Kevin Nesbitt

A true friend and mentor to me. Reminded me when faced with a difficult situation in life to think: How would JR handle this? Always calm and reassuring. Learned a lot about life when playing golf with him 72-74

Jimmy Carpenter and family, I was so sorry to hear about your Dad. My sincere condolences to the family for the loss of your loved one. May prayers strengthen you and memories comfort you, and may our Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father, who loves us, comfort your hearts and "make you firm". (2 Thessalonians 2:16, 17)

Lot's of great golf team trips and great memories with Coach Carpenter. How he put up with us I'll never know , but he always took care of us and got us back safely. Never forget when he got his USM golf team to work for NBC Sports in 1976 , at the PGA New Orleans Open. We walked the fairways with the last eight groups calling out the ball lies , club selection , and other info to the NBC TV analyst. Thanks for the memories JR . Rest In Peace.

Golf has lost a dear friend.I was privileged to serve with JR for many years at various PGA events.it was always a delight. Our family enjoyed many fun occasions with JR and Mary. Best wishes to the family.
Sincerely,

What an awesome role model and great friend. He got me started in golf like he did so many others. We all loved him.
