Opinions vary, but my memory is that it was my cousin Robert who always tossed me up to the ceiling when our family drove from southern California to Trumann to visit the Carters. I remember liking it. Between Robert and his sister Trisha, there was always comedy in the works.

Robert was certainly a family guy, and worked as hard as anyone I've known to collect every photo, gravestone engraving, and scrap of information possible to add branches, limbs and twigs to the family...

I am sorry for the family's loss.

Even though we didn't talk with or see each other for over 60 years, it was pretty amazing how easily and quickly we connected. So many common life experiences - loving spouse, children all grown up with children of their own, extended family and friends, enjoyment of simple things like tending a garden.
I think we both wondered abour the impact on McCormick's basketball team had the two of us - both 6'4'', been on the team together. Oh what might have been! Fun to speculate.
