Not sure what to say?

I stumbled upon the sad news about Dr. Cashman. Certain individuals make a very positive impression upon you that lasts over decades in your life. Such was the case with Jim Cashman, who was introduced to my Psych 355 class with Dr. George Graen in 1974. His love of research and intense curiosity concerning the lives of all of us in our chosen working professions came right off the page at you. It was a contagious behavior, and in fact helped spur my interests in career psychology during my...

Not only did I have Dr. Cashman as my own professor in the early 90's, but I was able to work him for many years as part of my job to encourage students to read The Wall Street Journal. He was truly interested in seeing students succeed and loved hearing back from them after they graduated. My working relationship turned into a friendship and today I am saddened by the loss of my friend. He will be missed by all and will remain one of the greatest people I have ever known. He never once...

FROM THE TIME I KNEW MR. CASHMAN WE SHARED A MOMENT THAT I WILL NEVER FORGET. I WISH HIS LOVING FAMILY THE BEST. FROM LISA MCMULLEN AT DCH WISH YOU ALL MUCH LOVE.

Linda and Jennifer, we just found out about Dr. Cashman's passing and our condolences go out to you. He was a gentleman, friend, mentor and scholar. He will be missed by all. His legacy will live on through us and all the people he so, wonderfully, touched.

For the staff of Alabama Heritage magazine, Jim was our hero. He stepped in when we were in trouble, he gave advice when business decisions loomed, and his students did numerous projects to benefit us, under his wise direction. It is a shock to learn that our champion and safety net and dear friend left us so early. We will miss him and always be grateful for him.

Linda and Jennifer,
It is hard to believe that Jim is gone. We had so much fun over the years whether it was on campus or phone calls that always started with 'hey, what's up kid?'. And his International endeavors at Northumbria and Durham measurably helped to extend the university's international footprint. His love for Alabama was so strong. He was the absolute best that the teaching profession can offer, a true legend who never forgot that students are and should be the central...

Linda, I met Jim when I was a sophomore undergrad at the U of I and volunteered to help George Graen with his research. I worked closely with Jim and was always impressed that even though I was only an undergrad and he was a doctoral student, he always treated me as a research colleague. My thoughts are with you.
