Rest in peace my friend, Jim and Lois before him. It has been many years since we spoke but, the Holy Spirit put him on my mind, and here I am finding he has crossed over before me. Jim and Lois were precious friends in Texas and later in Washington in ministry. We spent many days and hours in touch and in prayer. There was never a more precious couple and what a giant and gentle spirit in Jim. He was a soul winner. I remember his military uniform and how proudly he showed it in church, serving our country with dignity and distinction. Last I saw him was in Dallas, I think I was on my way to Israel and last I heard from him he told me Lois was loving a grandbaby and they had moved to San Antonio to be near military medical. I loved them and many more did but, somehow they did not find their way to this page to say I love you and God speed.

I first met Jim Chapman on a very memorable bus trip with his wife, Marilyn, to the Society of Air Force Nurses National Convention in Branson, MO. In spite of his health challenges I was amazed at the inspirational and determined effect that he radiated to all us on the bus. I know that he radiated those same qualities to everyone he met at that convention - always pleasant and smiling and with a robust welcome for everyone he met. Although he was not a member of the Society, his wife is, and he will always hold a place of honorary membership in our hearts. We will all miss you, Jim, and I know that the brightness of the light in heaven is shining a little brighter because you're there.

Jim was one of our very good friends while in Lake Dallas. During his time here, we spent countless hours together studying the Bible. While growing in our relationship with Christ, we also grew together as friends. In addition, we became "fishers of men," and also good fishing buddies. Dorothy and I have always kept Jim and his family in our prayers and we will both miss him dearly.

Uncle Jimmy was a caring, compassionate person. He performed a special blessing on our wedding day that still brings tears to my eyes, eight years later. His laughter, sweet smile, and loving disposition will be missed at the next family gathering. We will always reserve a place for you, Uncle Jimmy.

Uncle Jimmy has left me with many wonderful memories from when we were in California going camping and fishing to the great times in Texas watching the Cowboys play during Thanksgiving then all of us boys go play football(even though Jr. David, and W.T. beat me up). He was a very good Man, and will be missed by all but never forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with ya'll. Ron Shappley Statesboro, Ga.

I don't think there is anyone who met Uncle Jimmy who wasn't touched by his sweet and gentle spirit. I remember how easy it was to talk with him, and how much I looked forward to seeing him when he visited our family. I always admired him for his dedication to the prison ministry, where he touched and saved many lives. I know that his presence on this earth will continue to bless those who were touched by his ministry and his life for years to come. He is a wonderful example of a life lived for Christ, and I know he is with Him now, at peace and completely whole.
