Not sure what to say?

I came across Chaplain Chapman's Easter poem, "Hold Back the Dawn," that he read to the Air Force Academy Protestant Youth of the Chapel (PYOC) retreat attendees in 1967. Chaplain Chapman traveled from Offutt Air Force Base to Colorado to lead this group of 40+ teens and their counselors at a mountainside retreat center. This beautiful poem was lost in our family files for many years. I discovered it this morning when combing through my recently deceased father's papers. What a joy to...

Dear Chapmans,

My deepest sympathies for the loss of Rev. Chapman. He was a "larger than life" individual who left an indelible mark on all those he touched. My thoughts are with you in your time of grief.

To the Chapman family:
I'm very sorry for your lose, may god be with you @ a time like this. I know the chapmans because my mother cleans there home. My heart goes out to you all.

As a colleague in ministry with Jim I truely valued his leadership but most of all his humor and his extensive vocabulary. He truely was a great communicator... especially of God's word and love. God's blessings and peace. Sandra Hutchinson, UCC Chapel Hill Community, Canal Fulton

Lisa and Family,
We are so sorry to learn of your great loss. Please know you are in our thoughts....

Though I knew him briefly, as he came to Bath Church as I was away at college, I often recall his Christian leadership and devotion to preaching and teaching the Word. He ministered to my mother, Barbara and made a lasting impression. May God bless Jim's family with peace and comfort.

Offering our deepest condolences during this time.

To the Chapman Family,
We were saddened to hear of the death of Rev. Jim. Please accept out sympathy and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We thank God for his life and will remember his smile and positive ways.

Dear Carolyn and Family
Saddened to learn of the death of
Rev. Jim. We were neighbors in our
early years and attended many events as participants together with our Buddie"s at that time.
My sympathy goes out to all of you. Formerly of Haverhill, Ma.
