As the ancient Egyptians would say: As long as a name is written and spoken they will live forever. From Lorraine Simmons (who has passed) and Roc Simmons we remember Jim Childress.

Jim Childress was an honorable man with a flare for life who enjoyed working and playing with people. Jim and I and my wife Lorraine were involved in many musicals an theater productions. Jim an I would sing opera parts when the Gregorians produced shows in our areas. He had a wonderful strong voice which he loved to praise God with. I was so proud to have had his trust and friendship. He and all his family will be remembered in our hearts and thoughts an prayers. I will never forget his...

I´m sure our father John V. Arrabito, 6th Judicial District Probation Officer, would be pleased at Mr. Childress´ life well lived, service to our Nation and Community & with a firm grasp of Law and a heart of Compassion. Jim arrabito..

I had the honor and privilege of working with Jim at La Plata County. He was an honorable man and respected by all who had the good fortune to know him. He was an astute and fair Judge and served in that capacity with great pride. We shared many fun times thru work. At the time, I would house sit for Gloria and Jim at their place in the Animas Valley. He was a mentor for many and left a remarkable legacy. RIP and prayers of sympathy for all.
