Read MoreI last saw Jim in 1956 when I worked for him at WSUI Radio, the University of Iowa radio station. Something popped his name into my 83 year old brain and I looked him up. Can't remember what I had for breakfast, but remember stuff way passed. Rest in peace fellow broadcaster.

Our family will miss Jim dearly. He and Barbara were my parent's neighbors. We had many dinners together, and my parents spent a lot of time with both of them and with Jim after Barbara passed away. He had a special relationship with our son Anthony. Jim will be greatly missed!!!

To the family of Jim Chimbidis,
Both my husband and I knew Jim as a friend, gifted writer and witty man. I worked with Jim when he was writing/filming commercials for Jonathon Winters. We also worked together on some of his many productions of 'Mason City' Greeks. When I first met Jim I thought he was gruff but as I got to know him I realized he was a very caring, sensitive person who cared deeply about the welfare of humankind. Our condolences to his family. Jim will be missed.
