James Edward Clatterbuck
James E. Clatterbuck, 84, died Friday, September 26, 2008, at Morningside of Charlottesville.
He was born November 3, 1923 in Barboursville, Virginia and has lived in Earlysville since 1988.
Mr. Clatterbuck is survived by his son, Robert and his wife, Pamela, of Ormond Beach, Florida; his brother, Otis Clatterbuck of Charlottesville; and his sisters, Lucy Pritchett and Dorothy Clatterbuck of Gordonsville, and Erma Horner and Nancy Thomas of Charlottesville.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Elgie S. Clatterbuck; his father, Edward P. Clatterbuck; and mother, Sudie of Gordonsville; his brother, Wade of Gordonsville and his brother, George of Charlottesville.
Mr. Clatterbuck retired with 31 years of service as Manager of Traffic Control from Melpar Air Brake Division in Falls Church, Virginia and was President of the Melpar Employees Credit Union from 1974 to 1978. He served in the European Theater as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II. Mr Clatterbuck was a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America in Arlington, Virginia and a baseball coach for the Annandale, Virginia Babe Ruth League. He enjoyed fishing, sports, gardening and was a devoted dog lover.
His family and friends will greatly and lovingly miss him.
Mr. Clatterbuck was a member of Ivy Creek United Methodist Church 674, Woodlands Road Charlottesville, Virginia, where a memorial service will be held 12 p.m Friday, October 3, 2008.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ivy Creek United Methodist Church, Hospice of The Piedmont, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA at 3366 Berkmar Drive Charlottesville, Virginia 22901.

James was an Uncle and a friend - someone who you could always count on for a smile and a helping hand .. a man that loved and resprected all living creatures .. especially dogs .. James will be greatly missed but never forgotten .. he's in a place where his smile will last forever .. God Bless You Uncle James!!
