Not sure what to say?

My friendship with Jim was a short
one. I met him at the AISA Seminar
in South Carolina. My first impression
of Jim was that he was a tall, proud
but friendly gentleman. His face
beamed with such a beautiful glow.
His smile was from ear to ear. He
always greeted us with a hello and
a smile. My daughter Kari and I
enjoyed our talks with Jim. The last
AISA seminar that Jim attended, Kari
was quite concerned. She said that
that would probably be the...

Jim,
A Indian Prayer
Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush, I am in the graceful rush of beautiful birds in circling flight, I am the star-shine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room. I am in the birds that sing, I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand...

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome...

My deepest sympathies to you and your family in this time of sorrow.

I had the distinct honor to meet Jim at an American Indian Scouting Association Seminar some years ago. He took the time to encourage me to "keep going" in working with American Indian Youth

May peace and comfort be with you.

We wish you good thoughts and peace of mind in these hard times. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Love, The Jenkins

My sincere condolences to Betty and the family. Jim Claymore was one of the most inspiring gentleman I have ever had the pleasure to meet and to know. Jim's dedication to youth, and especially American Indian youth, was an example from which we could all learn a lesson. I treasure the talks we had during our times together at American Indian Scouting Association meetings. His wisdom will always be a part of my direction in guiding youth. May happy memories ease the loss we all feel.

In the few short years since I met Jim in 1995 he has come to have made a profound difference in my life. His example of genuine openness, compassion and care for all children as well as his own people is an example I will try to emulate for the rest of my life.
Our hopes, thoughts and prayers go out to all of Jims family and friends. We hope that the warmth of his love and care quickly overwhelms the grief you and we feel at his passing. While my own poor words have not much power to...

To The Nape Sica (Bad Hand) or Claymore Tiyospaye,

I write to express my sympathies at the passing of Leksi James “Jim” Claymore, a World War II Veteran and member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. I remember many wonderful and encouraging conversations I had with Leksi Jim in my younger day. He was an amazingly accomplished man, leader and great relative to us all. Later, while I was in college and law school he shared his wisdom and gave me great advice!

When I returned...

MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH JIM'S FAMILY AND FRIENDS. HE WILL BE FONDLY REMEMBERED AND SADLY MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HIM.
