Not sure what to say?

I was truly saddened to hear the news of Dr. Coats. I would like to convey my deepest sympathy to Mrs. Coats, Jeff, and Kelley. Dr. Coats was greatly loved and he will always hold a special place in my heart. I feel so privileged to have had him in my life (even for two short years). So many times since my student tenure at Faulkner I wanted to call him for advice, guidance or just to hear his compassionate voice. To the family of Dr. Jim Coats:

I am sorry for your loss. I was in two of his classes when I went to Faulkner State Community College.

He was also my mentor and a very sensitivve man. Whenever I needed a reference for anything, he would give me a great letter.

I will miss him very much and God Bless to you and will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I send to you my condolences to you all.

Dear Chris,
So sad to read of Dr. Coats passing. I always enjoyed our chats at tax time; he would ask about my family and tell he everything you guys had done. He was such a wonderful and caring person and will be missed by everyone's life he touched.

Dr. Coats was a valued friend and mentor to me as I was growing up. I am shocked by his sudden passing, but know that he is home with the Lord. He made a difference in my life and I am thankful to have known him. Deepest sympathy to the entire family--so sorry that I couldn't be there in person to help share this sorrowful burden.

Dear Chris - Betty and I are sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was a great human being and a joy to know. We wish we could have been there for you this weekend, but we were out of town. But you and your family are all in our thoughts.

Dr. Coats was a wonderful professor and friend. I have very fond memories of the "Pow Wows," from 1981-1983 with Dr. Coats at the helm. He will be missed.
