I miss the great playing from Jim.
Something kept me coming back
To see him and his early band Ballin’jack play over 20+ shows
Jim was very nice offstage. So talented and so tragic. Miss you Jim!

Musician Extraordinare
The beauty and power of notes he played,
Cascaded to a soft parade,
Hypnotizing, majestic overtones,
Lifting spirits saxophones,
Will miss the music, effortless he made
How it touched so many, in everything he played.

Condolences to the Coile family. I was a Bethel classmate and friend of "Jimmy's" and fondly remember him in the Ratty Basement Seven band in high school! Jim was a very special person and a killer musician, even back then. My only regret is that I never got to hear him play professionally. God's blessing on you all. Kathy Thomas Fritsch

I was blessed to work with Jim on many recording dates in the 70s . He was my "go to" guy for tenor saxophone. Wonderful musician and very nice guy. So sad to hear of his passing.
