Not sure what to say?

Jim was a wonderful friend to me , when we studied together in Innsbruck/ Austria. He was a decent man. I made with Jim my first trip to America , Oregon and his family. Later, he came to Berlin, after the wall came down. We both loved the people in Latinamerika, he lived in Bolivia, I spent some years in Mexico. I am sad and very grateful to him. Jim, a good journey home Hermann Breuimann SJ, Berlin

Jim and I go way back to the fourth grade at St. Josephs. We were both fair athletes so we bonded then and remained friends ever since. I actually have slept with the Father, but that was when i used to sleep overnight in West Salem and we would talk about sports until we fell asleep. Another great deal we would pull off was climbing over the fence at the stadium Willamette on...

Farewell to you James! Even from Australia, even now, your kindness to me at the Canisianum, is well remembered! May you find eternal peace and love as you rest in the bosom of Abraham!

May God grant him glory.

Father Jim was a dynamic leader when our young family were part of the St. Andrews community in the 80s. I last saw him in St. Paul at a memorial gathering for my sister after COVID. I had good intentions of going to visit him in Salem, but did not make the phone call. I admired and enjoyed him. One of the best priests in my opinion.

Dear family Margrit asnd I Charlie we are so said that our friend Jim died. I knew him in Innsbruck and in 1978 i visited him in Oregon with my wife and in 2003 together with my son Emanuel. When he came to Europe he always visited to me or we met in Schleitheim. Jim also visited us when we worked in Colombia in the mission with the comnuity of Bethelehem Immensee. Now his visit goes to heaven. We are so thanksful to have known Jim as a freiden, priest and a person full of faith and cmpasion...

I remember first meeting Fr. Jim when he came to my house, with Fr. Hunter as a seminarian. We went back many years and wonderful memories, with a brief stay at St. John the Baptist. Rest in Peace.

Fr. Jim Coleman served Our Lord so beautifully. His selfless dedication to the South American faithful made me so proud of The Archdiocese of Portland. His humility was possibly his best virtue -- Make America Humble Again -- and I was lifted up by his outreach at a very low time in my life. Receiving his old-school, typewriter letters was a highlight for me year after year, even earlier this year. Recently he recalled that I had been his basketball coach about 45 years ago. Al contrere,...
