James H. Collier, of Birmingham, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at age 92. 

He was a longtime active member of Saint Mark United Methodist Church. Mr. Collier and his wife Frances, served as youth coordinators for over 20 years at Saint Mark. They toured with the youth choir every summer on their youth choir trip. Mr. Collier served in the US Army during WWII as a Second Lieutenant. He worked in retail management for over 60 years. He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Frances Collier and his grandson, Hunter Collier.

He is survived by his son, Jim Collier (Jan); daughter, Linda Morgan (David); four grandchildren, Tiffany Hulsey (Billy), Christy Morgan (Randy), and Jenny Headley (Jeremy); seven great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 1 PM at Saint Mark United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church. Rev. Don Cross officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Saint Mark United Methodist Youth Choir Fund or to the flood victims in Louisiana.
