James "Jim" Conlin 94, of Ocean City, MD (formerly of Phoebus), passed away February 19, 2021 in his home.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 23, 1927, he served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and attended St. Joseph's University. He worked as an industrial engineer at numerous companies and ended his career at GE in King of Prussia, PA. In retirement Jim enjoyed attending the YMCA's Silver Sneakers program and volunteered his time with Meals on Wheels.
Jim is survived by his sister Dolores (Dee), his son Jim Conlin, Jr. (Shirley); daughters Susan Williams and Marie Conlin (Darren); five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous much-loved nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Mugler Conlin.
A private interment will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Newport News, VA. A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Fort Monroe, VA at a later date. R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, requests for mass intentions are appreciated. Memorial donations may be made to WHRO FM Norfolk VA or Meals on Wheels.
Love the memories of Jim taking me fishing on Mill Creek...Never will you meet a nicer guy! What a kind and thoughtful duo, Doll and Jim back together again. Love you all.

To the Conlin and Mugler families - my heart is saddened on learning of Jim's passing. He was a wonderful neighbor in the Phoebus community; both he and Joan took great pride in restoring and maintaining the John and Susan Mugler family home in our neighborhood.
