I was Jim's undergraduate student in 1977-1980. He was my professor for Organic Chemistry and I took another class and research seminar with him. I remember him as a kind, extremely intelligent man who loved organic chemistry. My father was a chemist in a petrochemical plant for 40 years so I had an interest. in chemistry for years. Dr Cox was my major professor for my PHD at UofH. He was the best and such a good friend and mentor. I called him often right up until the time he passed. I miss not speaking with him. Thank you, Jim for your life with me, Robert L Nolen
