Thinking of James on this day and celebrating his memory.

I went to high school with James. We called him Jamie in high school. I was playing guitar and bass and he was playing flute back in school. Our mutual admiration became stories of legends. I was into playing rock&roll and Jamie turned me on to jazz.We used to go to his house in the woods of Martinez Valley and listen to Herbie Hancock, Weather Report and jazz that was as progressive as modern jazz was at the time. I was saddened to hear of Jamie's death. I went to school with Jamie and he was a great guy. A friend of mine just told me of his death. We both had a crush on him. In fact, when we went skiing in 8th grade with Junior Teen Club, Jamie had broken his leg, and my friend that liked Jamie just happened to break her leg right after it and spent time with him while they were both getting their legs set and cast.
