Not sure what to say?

I joined a Romans Bible Study Jim was leading in the early 80's at the OKC counseling center. I was a young dad and youth minister hungry for a deeper relationship with Jesus. Jim was God's man for me. He even took me out to lunch. His love of Jesus and His Word were used by God to build my faith. God brought him to mind today as I was preparing my testimony. Grateful!

James was one of the few area director's that I knew in campus Crusade who would take the time to sit and listen to what everyone was feeling before he made a decision. His compassion was so like Christ's.

Jim was a truly wonderful person.
Always remembered

So much time has passed since Jim went home but I just found out. We owe Jim and Scope Ministries a lot. I was trained and worked out of the Tulsa Office and learned so much. My husband Larry and I have continued to train others and provide Biblical Counseling all over Northeast Oklahoma. We started with Scope the Hope Center of Tulsa and in 1992 we founded Haven Ministries and have trained a lot of Christians in Biblical Counseling. Seven years we started a Counseling Center for a Church in...

Jim was like my first 'spiritual father" and feel so sorry that I did not know until now. Doris and family, you have my prayers as I know you will all miss him greatly. He has left a wonderful heritage for so many of us. This is my 49th year with Cru and would not have had these years except for Jim and his wise guidance.

Susan and I are so sorry over your loss.Jim was such a Godly man that loved theLord, people and his family.Jim was a big part of our spiritual growth. We will miss him, but will see him again in heaven.Romans 8 Grace and peace in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Doris, I tried to get in touch with you as soon as I heard several months ago, but was not able to make connections. After I stumbled into your living room for that first College Life meeting in your living room in Norman in the Fall of '58, Jim became my spiritual father and you the big sister I never had. That night I saw Jesus alive and real in your lives and I was amazed. I had never seen that before. Then the team meeting in the Sigma Nu house, and the rest is history. The course of my...

I want to add my tribute to Jim and to Doris too.
As they did with so many, they took us (Charlotte and me) on as though we were their own kin when we were first with Campus Crusade at Oklahoma State in 1968-72.They were solid rocks in the chaos that was in the CCC Campus ministry then--and never took the chaos nor themselves more seriously than was necessary.Jim and Doris were full of hearts for people and for God and for leading people to Christ.I'm sure that whatever ministry I might...

I just found out this morning that Jim had passed away. The world has lost a great man and heaven has gained a modern day saint. I learned about the Holy Spirit from this wonderful Christian leader and I dedicated my book to him as a way of thanks. He taught me about becoming, "A Candidate for a Miracle" and as a result, the Holy Spirit changed my life. I will be forever in his debt for the way God used him in my young Christian life. He was humble, gracious, wise and possessed the ability to...
