Not sure what to say?

I have not lived in Ann Arbor for a number of years and did not learn of Jim's passing until today. One thing I've missed most about not living in Ann Arbor is no longer being able to spend time with you, Joyce, and Jim. I've so many fond memories. Jim was such a dear man and I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Dear Joyce, Our sincere sympathies to you and your children, grands and great grands at this most difficult and sad time for you all. Jim was my parents' lawyer for years and later ours as well. He was always so knowledgeable and ready to help with any of our questons, altogether a remarkable person. He will be sorely missed by many as you well know. We have been away since June, so I am just now getting up to date on news. God Bless, Carol and Dean

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

My deepest condolenses to Jim's family. Jim's Dad and my Grandma Bird were brother and sister. My Mom and Jim were cousins, and I have memories of being with Aunt Bernice and Uncle Art and Jim and Kay and their girls at Christmas time. My Dad worked at Crippen Drug Store most of his life. Jim was always kind and helpful when we needed his legal assistance. His daughters were blessed to have him for their Dad. Love, Sara McCrow Lovelace

It was a pleasure to work in Mr. Crippen's law firm for 15 years. He was always a true gentleman. My condolences to the family.

In my lifetime of public speaking experience on a platform, in academia and in broadcasting, Jim Crippen was extremely blessed in all endeavors of public address- including being profound in the courtroom. Each year, it was a Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor tradition to hear his annual installation of honorary members into our 102-year-old service organization. A well-prepared introduction, it appeared extemporaneous, but Jim- often as a prior-acquaintance- spoke in distinct , pleasantly candid...

When my parents retired and moved out-of-state, my father (also a well known Ann Arbor attorney) told me that if I ever needed the services of a lawyer, go to Jim Crippen. Dad considered Mr. Crippen to be the one truly dedicated, competent, and honest lawyers in Ann Arbor.

Mr. Crippen was my attorney for a number of years. I relied on his honesty, compassion, and kindness. He was a true gentleman. My deepest condolences go out to his family.
