I first met Jim in San Francisco about 50 years ago. It was during the travels of his wife, my cousin Patty, and their first child, Condessa, on their way to Asia. After joining the architecture faculty at Penn State, and annually traveling to Chicago for conferences, I visited his family on many occasions. Having lived a brilliant life, Jim will be missed by many persons including myself.

Jim was a delight to be around. It was our pleasure to camp with Jim and Patty for many years as part of the Tin Can Tourists. Just the nicest fellow and a wonderful person to enjoy a campfire with. The TCT family will miss Jim immensely.

Jim Croninger was a gift to everyone who was lucky to know him. He was my shipmate in the Naval Reserve units we jointly served in. My personal thanks to his family for sharing him on Navy weekends and annual two week active duty events with us. It wasn´t easy giving up husband and father on a regular basis. Most appreciated was Jim´s always positive attitude and quick wit that made the drill weekends fun. We will all miss him.
