Not sure what to say?

Jock was my organ teacher and the person I wanted to be when I grew up. I remember the choir sang Come Labor On in church while one of his children was born. He and Mary Lee were among the most hospitable folk ever. He lived a wonderful life, loved a good laugh, was a fearless and generous performer and a peerless example. All my love to his family and thank you for this opportunity to drop a line.

I have fond memories of Jock through his association with my father, Roger Peters, who played double bass in numerous musical ensembles in CW. My sincere condolences to his family.

I was in Jock's Bruton Parish choir '84-85 (my senior year at W&M) and he was kind enough to invite me to perform with him (I was a French horn major) at the candlelight concert the night before graduation. A lovely memorable experience. (We also did the complete Messiah that year, which was great.) So sorry to hear of his loss - what a great man.

Sad that we will no longer hear Jock play. I was fortunate that be a member of the choir, singing wonderful music that he so patiently taught! And Mary Lee was such a wonderful person who welcomed the entire choir for a picnics at their home. Fortunate children to have such talented and caring parents.

Dear Beth,

I’m so sorry about the loss of your father, and mother before him. I remember sweet times playing in your home. Your parents were always so kind.
May God give you and your family peace and comfort as you treasure the memories and mourn your loss.

A great organist. I loved his Saturday morning recitals.

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry your dad has passed so quickly after losing your mom! After 67 years together I can only surmise they had no desire to be apart. My heart felt condolences--again--to the Darling family. I hope for peace in your hearts and happy memories...

To the Darling family: It is hard to lose one's parents, especially so close together. We offer our deepest condolences. We honor them both for lives well lived.
