Not sure what to say?

My parents, Milton and Regina Newberry, were friends of the Deans when they lived in Annandale. I have four of his watercolors in my house and have fond memories of visiting him at the Torpedo Factory. He certainly made his mark on society. Quite a legacy! May he RIP, James Newberry

So very sorry to hear this. My aunt who was an avid collector of his encouraged me to buy one of his paintings that were sold at the Art Patch in Springfield, VA back in the 70's. So I did. A painting of his cottage in Maine with his sons beach towel hanging on the clothes line. I met him once at the Torpedo Factory. I so regret that I didn't buy more of his paintings. I smile everytime I look at mine. May you rest in peace my favorite artist.

For more than forty years, they ran together, laughed over the "gotchas" they pulled on each other and were the best of friends. Jim will be remembered for his quiet smile and dry sense of humor, as well as his kindness. He lives on in his many paintings of...

Did not know this gentleman but know his son, Steve, a wonderful guy. Condolences to the family. From this marvelous obituary, sounds like a fellow I would have liked to have know. Peace.
