James N. "Jim" Deck

DECK, JAMES N. "JIM" Ypsilanti, MI
Age 82, passed away, Thursday, February 27, 2014 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital following a heart attack. He was born March 7, 1931 in Dexter, MO, the son of Arnold and Cleo (Brazzeal) Deck. He was a 1950 graduate of Ypsilanti High School. On June 16, 1951, he married Joyce M. Cummings and she survives. Jim served honorably in the U.S. Army. Jim was a painter and decorator for over 40 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Ypsilanti Township Senior Center where he loved to play pinochle and he was an avid bowler for 40 years. In addition to his loving wife of 62 years, survivors include: one daughter, Julie Wash; four grandchildren, Anthony and Ashleigh Wash and Caitlyn and Tyree Deck; one sister, Wilma (Robert) Majors; nephew, Brian Majors; and nieces, Karen and Linda. He was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy and David Deck. Cremation has taken place. Per Jim's request, no funeral will be held.
