Not sure what to say?

What a loss to the creative world. Jimmy Deck was one of a kind. I remember vividly how he worked with me to support a foster care child with talent. He was able to connect with the student and push the student's work to another level. More importantly, Jimmy was able to support the student emotionally. I was always happy to see and talk with Jimmy after we worked with that student. When the student aged out of the program, Jimmy assisted him in making me a dog that I continue to cherish! ...

Mr. Deck was such an amazing human being. Over twenty years have passed but the profound impact he had my life back then cannot be understated. In high school I was fortunate enough to take his studio art class. I wouldn´t realize or appreciate fully until years later how he changed the trajectory of my life towards a significantly more positive one. Liza, I have so many great memories of you and I, Jimmy and Larry during our Fleming days and unforgettable and unpredictable field trips. Please come visit us here on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula. Love you.

To Jimmy's family: I am so sorry for your loss. Jimmy was an extraordinary person. My son had Jimmy as an art teacher at William Fleming and he admired him so much. The world definitely has lost a good one !!!

Jimmy was our next door neighbor for seven years. He and Dale and David played with the children on the street, and they fussed at each other like all children do. Sorry to hear of his passing. Ann Allison

I first remember Jimmy as a good and happy student at Preston Park Elementary (his mother was my room mother), later as a fellow teacher, and then as a happy retiree around town. I always enjoyed our convivial conversations. He will be missed. My condolences to Liza and the family. Barry Akers, sixth-grade teacher
