Not sure what to say?

i helped take care of jim at woodlands. he was one of my favorites. he was great. always so patient and kind. my thought and prayers are with you all. i wish the best for martha also. the woodlands staff hated to see him go.

I have an incredible ammount of memories with my Granddad. I have learned so much from him by just observing the way he lived his life. I always looked at him as perfect model for a grandfather, father, husband, and man. I will always remember all of the times we had together.

What a good friend Jim was to so many of us.
Ge'll be missed!

Grandad was the funniest person that I know and always had the most hilarious and witty things to say. He certainly brightened the day and we'll all miss him terribly.

I'm a grandaughter of Jim "Grandad" and wanted to just say how much he is loved and will be missed. I have a lot of great memories of him and how he could always make me laugh. He has never once let me down when I needed a good laugh, and I will treasue his love forever. Love you Grandad.

Jim was the best man in our wedding and was a wonderful grandfather to our daughters, Lauren and Catherne. He will be missed for his wonderful sense of humour and as captian of the NOOTNOP. Lots of fun times on Ky. Lake with the whole family.

In His Name,

Cathy DeGroote

Jim was a close friend of my sister and brother-in-law, Shirley & Rod Matthews. I first met him when I was 10, and he took me for a cycle ride. What fun! and what a guy!

I worked with Jim on the EPD. He was a good friend and fellow officer. He will be missed. I will not be able to be at the funeral for I am in Maryland.

God Bless.

I believe that Mr. DeGroote was one of those individuals who make this world a better place to live. He always did his job efficiently and courteously. Thanks Jim and God Bless!
