James E. DeLude, 62, of Newport passed away August 31, 2010 in Newport. He was born May 23, 1948 in Northfield, VT the son of Edward and Flora (Phillips) DeLude. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1966 and attended UCLA Berkeley in California where he received a Master's Degree in Behavioral Psychology. He was a well known Personal Accountant. He served time in the United States Air Force and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an avid sportsfan and he enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, and traveling. He is survived by two daughters: Jamie DeLude and her husband Juan Aristizabal of Malden, MA, and Jasmine DeLude of Lyndon Corner, VT. He is also survived by a granddaughter Juliana Gentley, by his beloved companion of 7 years Normie Gagne of Newport, by her two sons: Alain and Donald Berube, by his two sisters: Mary Clifford of Northfield, VT and Diana DeLude of Montpelier, VT, by his two nieces: April DeLude and Crystal Barrows, by his two nephews: Eric Clifford and Bryson DeLude and by his dog Misty as well as several close friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday September 11, 2010 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to the North Country Hospital, Prouty Drive, Newport, VT. 05855. I haven't seen Jim in over 30 years. We had great times and hard times. I always figured I'd see him again. I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing. He was a true character. Rest in peace, my friend
