Not sure what to say?

Capitol Hill lost another great man with the passing of Coach Derrig. He was a true classic. Although he had no children in St. Joseph's Class of 76, he coached boys basketball for a number of years with Coach McAteer. He told me once that our class needed coaches after the untimely passing of Ed Tennel so he and Coach Mac volunteered. Coach Derrig was a great coach. Always positive, supportive, and we played hard for him because we liked him so much.
He attended my wedding in 1992 and it...

Love you, Uncle Jim. The world is a darker place without your smile and your laugh. I will cherish the many memories of dinners and football games at your house. I loved the trips to the ID for lunch when my family came to visit. In my heart forever, Debby.

I so loved this man! I have the most wonderful memories of Mr. Derrig from my youth. I can hear his laugh, see his twinkling eyes, and hear him say "Hey kiddo." My dad, Jack, loved him like a brother and the many years they spent in business together (and out of business) were cherished. At dad's funeral, I said: "I love you Jim; his eyes twinkled when he said; tell me again...so I did...and he said; "one more time." :)
Karen and I just heard about this today and we will be at the...

Jim was my Dad (Jack Petersons) partner, and I have such fond memories of this man. He was loved and he will be missed. Prayers for your family.

Love and prayers to the Derrig Family. I can not count all of the times our Families celebrated together. We spent so much time together growing up, that the Derrig Family was our second family.
So many times after us kids got into trouble, Mr. Derrig was always there with a stern but loving smile on his face. He would always calm things down and then patiently work to fix the trouble we found ourselves in. The memory of such a big loving teddy bear of a man is burned into my soul. I...

To Aunt Pat, and all of the Derrig family. You are all in my thoughts as you are dealing with the loss of such an amazing man. His kindness and generosity left an imprint in my life. I have so many wonderful memories of him, and his adorable bushy eyebrows! Much love to all of you, and peace to your beautiful hearts.

Loved going to the derrig house for nite trips to get candy lake Cavanaugh chelan and the rainy day car rides to the seattle university pool. Thank you Mr derrig for lots of fun and laughter.

Sending love and prayers to the Derrig family God welcomed home one of the best...

'Jimbo" was my brother Bud Wink's best friend when they went to the U of W together..this must have been in the 1940's. 50 Years, later (as only a younger sister can) I recognized him in Kenmore by his laugh. Jim had bought the Bergs house right on our corner...amazing how Hillers always remember each other! God Bless you all. Connie Swanson (Wink-Olwell)
