James Francis Devine

I first came to the USGS in May 2000 and was parked in a pilot program called the Center for Integration of Natural Disaster Information (CINDI) while awaiting restoration of my security clearances. Jim visited us frequently from "On High" to check on the pilot's progress. Jim's rare combination of expertise and friendliness was an early sign to me that the USGS was going to be a supportive and innovative workplace for a career in science. He will be missed!

Hi Kathy, So sorry to hear that Jim has passed away; I was looking to see my neighbor whom we've just lost and perhaps you knew her when your daughter was young; she was the head nurse at Dr. Dipaola and harrison's office in Reston. These are sad times for us all and if you need a shoulder I am here. You know we all loved Jim and always found him to be the classy gentleman you married. Thinking of you and your family at this very difficult time. Marge
