Not sure what to say?

Whatever notoriety I ever received as a baseball catcher was because of Coach Dickey, he taught me the position. In April of 1968, Coach was approached by a Detroit Tigers scout and asked to give me a card to fill out (we had been playing a tournament in Zeeland). After everyone had exited the bus he handed me the card as we were the last one's off the bus at old Balyeat field. I had been catching my Dad in the Men's Fast Pitch Softball League the previous year and planned on doing so...

sorry for your loss i loved playing for him always honest

Rosie. Sorry about your loss. I remember the great times we had at Northern and what a great person he was.

Uncle Jim was one of the kindest people I have ever known. And in many ways he was a second dad to me. He put a golf club in my hand for the first time. Taught me to fish, throw a spiral, hit a baseball. Always patient when doing so too. Taught me about history. And of course, he instilled a love of Michigan in me. When he and Carole met for the first time, she just loved him right away, with he and Aunt Rosie welcoming her and treating her as if she had been part of the family forever.

Rosie and family,
Our sincerest sympathies. We'll remember him (and all the good times) fondly.

Mr. Dickey was my football and baseball coach...my history teacher...Mrs. Dickey was my English teacher...they meant alot to me (Sparta...1965)

Rosie, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Jim was a kind man, mom loved him a lot. Another angel in heaven.

Sorry to hear about Jim. He was a great friend who was very supportive of Northern High School
Athletics as as teacher, coach and administrator.

Dear Mrs. Dickey, Terresa and I wish to give you thanks for the contribution that the two of you had on our lives. In 1966 Coach Dickey to me and a bus load of students from Sparta my first UM football game. I was hooked. I graduated from UM in 1973. My son graduated in 1999. His spouse graduated also in 1999. All because of that bus trip. Terresa and I have a brick that is just a step away from yours and Coach's brick at the Big House. God bless Mrs. Dickey. Kris & Terresa (Tag...
