Whatever notoriety I ever received as a baseball catcher was because of Coach Dickey, he taught me the position. In April of 1968, Coach was approached by a Detroit Tigers scout and asked to give me a card to fill out (we had been playing a tournament in Zeeland). After everyone had exited the bus he handed me the card as we were the last one's off the bus at old Balyeat field.
