Thank you for everything Mr. Dickey. You were not only a mentor but a great friend to many. You made a huge impact on so many peoples lives and made so many students feel seen. I feel fortunate to have known such an amazing person. It's because of you that I create art every day. You will be missed dearly.

I am so very sorry to learn this news, and to the family and students, for your great loss. The students above have spoken so beautifully, and speak for many many more. I am so thankful my kids had Mr. Dickey as teacher and am beyond grateful for all the moments they spent learning about art and life from him. At parent conferences it was a treat to sit and chat with him. His influence will be present in many lives far into the future. So thankful for him, and so sorry he is gone way too soon.

You were the best art teacher anyone had the honor of being in a class with. You taught me that art comes in many shades shapes and patience . My heart is heavy of your loss but know that you and your family are a cherished masterpiece that you created. My condolences to the family and friends of this wonderful teacher.

Mr. Dickey was the one teacher who always believed in me and inspired me to pursue my passion for art. I loved his class because it felt like an escape from the stress of my day-to-day life as a pregnant teenager in high school. He never treated me like I was any different than the rest of the students, and let me work independently if I was having a rough day. I re-took his class every semester, every year, for 4 years, because I loved his class so much. After graduating, I ran into him at...
