This is a very sad day. Jim was not only an outstanding scientist but a great colleague and friend. My heart goes out to Burma, Jay, and Joe and the rest of his family. I will keep you in my prayers Jim...you will be missed.

So sad to hear of the passing of Jim. Way too soon.
I have great memories of Jim as we worked together at the USGS. My summer with Jim, Burma and sons in Ketchum, Idaho will remain one of the highlights of my career. Also spending time working with Jim in the Lost Creek area in Colorado and hiking with Joe and Jay will always be remembered.
As time passes memories will help celebrate a life well lived.
