Not sure what to say?

As a Family Doctor, I referred many patients to Jim, and assisted him in the OR on many occasions. Jim was always very approachable, kind, and skilled as a surgeon. He was also a true gentleman. I am saddened to hear of his passing. He lead a full and admirable life. Jim Stockdill.

A fine gentleman and a pleasure to serve with

As a family physician in the 80s and 90s, Jim was my go to referral for pediatric and adult surgery. I spent many hours in his company as his surgical assistant. He was an excellent surgeon and a calm and compassionate physician, truly one of Victoria´s best. Rest in peace, Dr. Donald.

I had the honour of being Dr Donald's surgical intern during my RJH rotating internship in 1981-1982. We enjoyed many happy hours during clinics outside of Victoria, in Ladysmith, Chemainus, and Duncan. Always kind and understanding, his compassion showed in each encounter, be it with patients or with staff. He opened his home to our diverse group of interns. What a wonderful man. Rest easy, Dr Donald!

As a bedside nurse, Jim Donald was one of my all-time favourite doctors/surgeons. He treated all with equanimity and kindness.

I had the privilege of working with Dr. Donaldson at VGH. Always kind and compassionate. A skilled surgeon and great mentor. Would think of him time to time. Condolences to the family.
