Not sure what to say?

While we didn´t know Jim, we have many fond memories of his father, Chuck, and we pray every day that his pain will be eased. Dan & Jan Wessel

You will be missed coach!! I remember being your TA during my senior year.

Dear Dostal Family, With our deepest sympathy, we are praying for the family over the loss of your husband, brother and son. Jim was instrumental with his brother Randy in helping me retrieve game film tapes from my two year varsity letters at Jefferson in football. (1969) Jim was known and well-loved.

I´m so heart broken to hear the news of Jim´s passing. I was a student at Jefferson when Jim was a student teacher, I then attended Coe college where we would sometimes run into each other at the football games. We always had great conversations. Such a great guy! This is such a huge loss! RIP Jim.

Amber and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I hope reading all of these fond memories and kind words bring you some comfort in this difficult time. My senior year I spent a lot of time in Mr. Dostal's classroom. He would let me study for academic decathlon in the back of his room while his first two or three classes of the day were going. If nobody in class was participating, I would raise my hand and he would call on me to help keep the conversation moving even though it wasn't my...

My thoughts and prayers go to Mr. Dostal's friends and family. He was one of the best teachers I had, I was heartbroken when I heard what happened.

I remember Jim has a child. I lived in the same neighborhood with the Dostals just a few houses away from mine. I was 12 and Jimmy was 6. I ran around with Jimmy´s brother Randy and Jimmy was usual right there with us. Even as a child, Jimmy was such a sweet kid. Tough as rocks when we would play rough but as sweet a kid as they come. God bless you Jim and my heart goes out to the Dostal family. Mike Brummer

I have known Jim for over 40 years, he was one of nicest persons you´ll ever meet. Also, one of best teachers and coach I have ever met. He was organized, well versed, diligent, and a very caring person. I can´t say enough about him, Jim, you will be missed. Your friend, Joe Peters.

You will be missed... Rip
