Not sure what to say?

Sorry to learn of Jimmy's death in February. We were kids together at Westover in1946-48 and attended St. Patrick's School together. Safe passage for Jimmy, remembered with affection from those days so long ago.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

Mike so sorry to hear of your Dads passing he was always good to my family may he RIP ( VH) for ever

As our baseball coach, Jim Dowd taught us that knowing the game and practicing to improve translated to an education and hard work being a recipe for success. After 30 years of coaching myself, those players of mine are now teaching that same lesson to another generation of players. Thanks, Coach.

Mike and Family,
So sorry to hear about your Dad. One of the many good people on Bowles Park. We were lucky. He took the time to build (and repair) our street hockey nets all the time. RIP Mr. Dowd

Thoughts and prayers to the entire family during this tough time, but especially to my "Elms sister" Patty. Your Dad was an awesome guy and I remember very vividly how kind he was to me when we were in college. Also, he was key in my understanding of the history of Springfield, a city he was very proud of.

Love to you all

To Jim’s Family:
I first met Jim when we were claims adjusters at Springfield Fire & Marine Insurance Co. We had many lunches together. Jim was a highly intelligent, interesting person, with a remarkable vocabulary, and a finely-tuned sense of humor. We both attended WNEC Law School in those days, and later met up downtown as lawyers, when we always had an enjoyable conversation. He was a fine person, who will be missed by all who knew him, but especially by you, who knew him best. ...
