Not sure what to say?

I took lessons from you back in the late 80's. You were a good guy. Very patient. I did not know you had passed. Thank you Sir. God Bless your family

We cannot believe it's been five years now, Jimmy. Shorty and I miss you so much.

All those Festivals in the Park when the three of us met up... haven't been back to Freedom Park since ya left us.

Hoping that wherever you are you have access to a screaming guitar and that you are digging the vibe, or at the very least enhancing it a bit.

Thinking of you on August 19th like we do every year nowadays.

We will never forget you, Jimmy.

You were one of my favorite people I learned so much from you at CPCC. Your mastery of the banjo was unparalleled and society will sorely miss you.

Old friend - very, very saddened

Playing around on my guitar tonight and somehow thought of Jimmy. Went to Myers Park together. In the first Black History class offered. Me, Jimmy, and Corkey. Only three white boys in the class. Kinda nervous then but Jimmy's ready grin and funny way of seeing the world had everyone relaxed soon. I'd hang out at his house sometimes. Knew then he'd be great. Found him tonight gone away. Thank you buddy. You were always a trip.

I just found out today. I am very sorry for your loss. I have very fond memories of Jimmy. He will be sorely missed.

I was in LA when I heard Jimmy had left us. I consider myself to be his first guitar student, even though we didn't acknowledge it at the time. I'm confident nothing ever really dies in nature and Jimmy's spirit will live on in the guitar strings of thousands of his followers. My thoughts to Larry and all of the Duckworths.

"A great loss " GREAT guitarist...
will be missed by all..............................

"I did not know Mr. Jim Duckworth, but after watching one of his broadcast that featured the late Eugene Walker, my uncle. I began my search for Jim so that I could talk to him and tell him thank you for the great memory of my uncle only to find out that I just missed him too. Eugene died while I was at war in Afghanistan and I returned in time to attend the funeral. I guest I said all of that to say, THANKS JIM." OCT 20, 2010
