In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Hospice of the Northwest.

Not sure what to say?

My deepest sympathy to the Eckmann family. May God grant you peace during your time of grief. Rm. 15:33

I met Jim when my father told me to go to the Yankee Peddler and select a sports coat. I was a sophomore at Prep and intimidated going into this men's environment. Jim put me at ease, helped me select the perfect item, and from that point on I was a customer, including at the shop in Madison Park. My cousin, Denis Tuesley, worked for him at one point.
Always a smile on his face and a welcoming word. Blessed to have met him

Jeff (my pre-school best friend and next door neighbor!), Pete, Chris and Lee - we all so loved your dad (and mom). Though my family moved to Palm Springs in 1958 my dad's best friend for life was Jim Eckmann. Crazy shared stories and two VERY funny guys. I'm so sorry for your loss. A lot of Seattle history there - Ray and Torchy were friends, too! My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Love, Danna T. Mongoven - Carlsbad, CA (daughter of Bill Torrance)

What beautiful and vivid stories he has left behind for us. I have faith that I will see his smile again. My condolences to his sons and family. -Isaiah 61:1,2
