I never had the chance to thank American veterans for what they did, to free us from the Nazis. Among those veterans, I learned just recently, was James Ike Eikner. I was too late to tell him personally what he has meant to us, simple people in Belgium.

James "Ike" Eikner, was an American hero. His life and legacy will live for generations in the history of the American soldier. He was creative, loyal, honorable, and had towering intelligence. His presence has graced us for 100 years, and he will be missed. Condolences to his son and daughter in law. With great respect and sadness, Sandy Boyd, Army daughter and wife
