I was saddened to hear of the passing of Dr English. For 28 years I sold Fashion Eyewear to his office. He always made time to come out and say "Hello" to me, I always enjoyed talking to him about his many hobbies. His staff was Awesome and I will miss my time him.

I met Dr. English as a very nearsighted young girl. He teased me saying that I wouldn't wear my glasses, thinking that pre-adolescent vanity would prevail over my improved vision. Not only did I faithfully wear my glasses as an 11 year old, I faithfully continued to see him as my optometrist. He was a warm, kind, and humorous man that I enjoyed seeing for my vision needs. I will miss him. May God comfort his family during this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear of Dr English's death. I just found out tonight and didn't believe it at first. I am so incredibly sad! I started seeing him for my eyes about 15 years ago and I feel that we became friends. He was such a wonderful man with his comforting voice and great sense of humor. I loved seeing him riding his bike through town or running into him at the local restaurant. I just ran into him a couple weeks ago at the grocery store and he told me about his trip to Africa. The...

I am deeply saddened to hear of Jim's passing. We grew up across the street from one another, and he took care of my eye needs even after I relocated to Arizona. He was of great comfort when my father passed recently. My condolences to his family, he will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Dr. English was a life member of the Swartz Creek Area Historical Society. Without his generous offer of letting us use space in his office to store some of our artifacts, we would not have been able to survive as a group. He allowed us space free of charge for 15 plus years and we are extremely grateful for that. Our condolences to his family for the loss you have suffered. The whole community is a better place because of Dr. English and he will be missed.

When I was 18 yrs. old Dr English fitted me for my first pair of contacts. Many years later, he fitted me again . He had unique qualities and personal concern for his clients. I looked forward to seeing him and hearing about his travels. He will be sadly missed.
