When I was in the Senate it was always a pleasure to be lobbied by Jim English the President of Trinity College. I chaired Education and later Appropriations Committees so I saw him from time to time. He usually was advocating for financial aid for students attending the private colleges. His gentle voice, keen mind and clear logic made the encounters a pleasure. Often it's painful to sit with some lobbyists but Jim was always a wonderful encounter.
