As a Lieutenant assigned to the Firehouse at Ninth & Broadway I worked under Jim when he was a District Chief in District One.
Jim was well liked by the men throughout the District. He was fair in his decision making when the men were involved. He was a great Officer, leader and avid golfer.

Smokey was a great guy to work for. I remember all of the fire critiques he used to give at 9th and Broadway to teach the young guys how to do things the right way. My deepest condolences to the family
