James "Butch" William Faison, age 70, of Norfolk, VA, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. He is survived by his partner of over 20 years, Laurie Scott; mother, Joan D. Faison; daughter, Carrie L. Faison; brothers, Robert S. Faison Jr., Michael A. Faison (Katie); and sister, Michelle S. Myers; as well as a niece, nephews, and extended family. Music was a big part of his life. He was a skilled musician who found joy in playing for family and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231.
