Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Dr. Finney's death and am so sorry for all the family. My belated thoughts and prayers are with you all.

The world has lost a great man. I met Dr. Finney on a personally level in 1993. My husband had a heart attack. I knew him from working at St. Vincent. We had a good relationship with him.I will miss him. A compassion, dedicated Dr.He presented himself to his patients not only as their physician but a more personal relationship.

I was shocked and saddened to hear about Jimmy. As a Freshman at Vanderbilt, I looked up to him and Patty Perry as upper classmen role models and admired his dedication to the medical profession and loyalty to Vanderbilt.

Beverly and I were both and saddened to learn of Jimmie's unexpected and sudden demise. (we are out of town) The Finnys have been part of our lives for years and to them may send our condolences . Our prayers will be with you and any support that might be appropriate. To us,his friends and his many patients his life has made a difference for the better. He did a good job with his talent and training and he did it his way. His absence will leave a hole in our hearts as we do the best we can to...

Our thoughts and prayers are with Pattie Perry and
Jimmie's family. We were fortunate to have known
Jimmie and Patti Perry for over 30 years through
the Southeastern Clinical Club. Jimmie was not only an outstanding physician but personable and
interesting man with many interests that he shared with others. He will be sorely missed but never
forgotten. With love, Sharon and Bob Weilbaecher

I am so sorry for the loss of such a great man. He was my mother's cardiologist in 1984, and took care of her for many weeks until she passed away. I could tell that he cared very much for his patients. He was kind and compassionate, and yes, he was gruff sometimes, but that was because he was SO concerned with his patients and wanted the best for them. He will be greatly missed.

I worked for Dr Finney manyyears and even a group of us girls went to camp at Guntersville and he and his wife graciously took us boat riding. He will be missed.

I have been friend with Jimmie for almost 16 years, and had the honor of meeting Dr. Finney, at his lovely home almost 2 years ago. He was so very pleasant to me, we talked about medicine, in that I am a nurse, and he was so generous in taking the time to talk about the artwork in his home. I had never seen such a beautiful collection of art, in all of my life. I felt like I was at home, a part of the family that night, and I will hold the memories of that weekend close to me forever. I am so...

As one of Dr. Finney's colleagues said to me when I was upset that he was retiring and could no longer be my doctor: "There will never be another like him"!
