Not sure what to say?

My wife a I were married by the judge in 1982. We are still married I like to think it was because of the judge's talk before the marriage. Judge said he had long record of successful marriages. God bless him. M Hanke still going strong. Thanks your HONOR.

Wonderful of you to share your story and sorry I am just now reading it. I am the great grandniece of Uncle James. Thank you and your family for extending such kindness to my Aunt and Uncle. God bless you, Lezlie Moore

Dear Judge Flanigan's Family,
I beleive the honorable Judge was the same man that was going to school along with his wife when he came into my grandfather's grocery store which was called Rifkin's 20th Century Market. He told my grandfather that they were both in school and he didn't have much money so could he pay for the food when he got paid. My grandfather told him he could always have credit for food . The wonderful Judge always cleared his account when he could. He told my...

I met Mr. Flanigan once in my life and I was only 6 years old in 1962. I will never forget the kindness he showed to our family for the rest of my life. My mother, sister and myself we're in a car accident on the way to the train station to spend the summer in Ohio and he stopped to make sure we were alright, then proceeded to drive us to the train station so we wouldn't miss our train. We always appreciated this and he probably didn't even think it was a big deal but it was to this six year old.

The unmatched princely deeds and genius of the Honorable Judge Flanigan will never be surpassed or forgotten. As Denver's first African American District Attorney, he was a powerful but gentle legal giant known for his legal expertise and compassion. Later as a judge, he continued his unique personal standard for professional excellence and moral achievement. My family extends to his family and close friends our love and appreciation for his time-tested and often unheralded courageous...

To the family,
I will always treasure my memories of the Judge and Luella Flanigan from the early 1970's and beyond. I was a sorority sister of hers, and I travelled with them on many of the "Fun Trips" to Las Vegas at Thanksgiving. What a wonderful couple, and truly outstanding citizens. May God grant him peace.

Aside from my folks, Judge Flanigan had the most influence on me as a child. He was my Godfather. My dad, Ruben Sims, Sr., and he grew up as next-door neighbors and best friends in Independence, Kansas, and it was he and wife Luella who encouraged my dad and mom to move to Denver. Judge Flanigan, through his verbal motivation and by example, always encouraged all of us kids who followed our parents to the bowling alley on Sundays to be the best we could be; that because we are Black we...

Grandpa, we will miss you deeply. Our love to you always.

Your Family,

Michelle, Brandan, Endesha, & Rodney Flanigan
