I just found this!! Dr. JAMES Flippen was a huge part of my childhood. I was totally blessed to have him as my Dr. my mother adored him. She passed away in Feb 1972, and Dr F was instrumental in assisting my father Henry and maternal grandparents in getting the best advice and care for my beloved Mother. I treasured him for many years of my youth. I would t know what it’s like to have any other Dr. he set the standard. The mark is excellence. And living care. Bless you Jim. From: Caylee...

Condolences to Dr. Flippen's family. He was pediatrician to our family and he was wonderful, despite the occasional shot. His patio concrete lion playstructure was part of our childhoods too. When I graduated from his care to a "grown-up" doctor, he took special time to go over all my records with me and proved he really knew me and had supported me in all the little growth struggles. He was a good listener and I trusted and respected him. He was the inspiration for every doctor I have...

My husband, James, and I remember Dr. James Flippen as a member of the Peninsula Dance Quadrille , a social group that held dinner dances at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club. He and his wife,Beverley, were excellent dancers and it was a delight to see them on the dance floor. They were a charming couple and we are pleased to have known them.

He was a wonderful and special doctor. four children were terrified of doctors and shots. We would go climb on that cement lion hoping you would not catch us to give our shots I had no idea he had such a talented career. He gave comfort and saved many lives, what a wonderful long career Amazing man for all he accomplished Our thoughts are with you, you are in our prayers

From the O'Brien's who were patients and family friends - our thoughts are with you. He had a long and illustrious life. I will never forget our July 4th at that beautiful Asian house, where my brother Scott got a piece of firecracker in his eye. It was a good thing his Dr was right there! Our best to you -

Here I am with my own family! Grateful for the early care I received from Dr. Flippen!
Dr. Flippen...what an extraordinary man! It seems so odd that I knew so little about the fantastic pediatrician to whom my parents entrusted my care. I remember playing "I Spy" with my Mom in the various rooms as we waited. I recall Dr Flippen cauterizing the vessels in my nose to reduce the frequent bleeds. I got all my shots in that office, had the "Talk" in my teens, and always left reassured that I was going to be "just fine" very soon. My brother & I climbed on that cement lion, read...

RIP Dr. Flippen! You were my Pediatrician until I was 12! You used to have to chase me around the office to give me a shot You made a house call when I had the German Measles...no one does that anymore...
