James M. Forjan

For the past eighty one years since the first day that the grand opening of York Catholic High School has been celebrated, our basketball coach was Mr Jim Forjan. Jim passed away on February fifteenth. He was eighty three years old. I speak for the entire York Catholic family when I say We'll miss you, Jim.

Jim passed away on February fifteenth. He was eighty three years old. I speak for the entire York Catholic family when I say We'll miss you, Jim.

In this myriad of emotions that follows the passing of my Coach, I extend my sincere condolences to the Forjan family. Whether in class, in the halls, or on the court Coach worked his unique style of psychology to teach me many life lessons. In my 45 year career in psychology I relied upon those lessons and shared them with literally thousands of young people who benefitted as did I. Thank you Coach for all that you gave.

We lost a GOOD man who cared about people and especially the students of YC. My years at YC would not have been exciting and memorable if it was not for Coach Forjan. He took a vested interest in the students and touched many families throughout the years. Coach Forjan was special and will always be a positive influence in my life.

What an amazing man! Jim and Mary may your life be filled with joy with the memories from the people your Father made a positive difference in their lives. My family was one of them.
