James Thomas Franey

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Franey. Although I remember him when I attended Garces Memorial High School (class of '63) and later when I worked for the County of Kern at the Courthouse, I most recently got to "chat" with him when I worked with my daughter, Wendy Curtis at Washington Mutual Bank.

He was a kind and gentle man who never outgrew being the 'proud papa'of his children! He had a glint in his eye and a keen sense of humor. God granted him a beautiful life...

It is with great sorrow to hear about the passing of Mr. Franey. I remember Mr. Franey as one of the nicest men I ever met. I shared a few dinners with Mr. Franey and his family. His son John is my longtime friend and ex schoolmate from the Garces High class of 1973. I would often pick John up to go out to the movies or a game and Mr. Franey always greeted me with a firm handshake. I remember Mr. Franey with an earpiece while watching TV.
