Jim was a great guy a great cop one of the nicest people you could ever meet hes in heaven

Jimmy was truly a nice guy. I worked in The Homicide Unit with him and became good friends, Since we retired I have been with him a few times a year and it was always great. He always laughed and had a smile on his face.
I know that he was loved by all the people he worked with over the course of his career. All his partners really respected him and thought the world of him. I was shocked to hear the news of his passing.
Rest In Peace My Friend.

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Jim Gajowski. He was my friend and partner for a number of years in the Third District Detective Bureau.
Jim was the real deal. You always knew Jim would tell the truth whether you liked it or not. Jim was a great person to work with to go along with good sense of humor. My condolences to his wife, Bobbi, and the rest of Jim's family.

I will always remember all of our crazy times in school (making our movie Dillinger), graduation, moving on with our lives; not seeing each other for years and then reconnecting. Like everyone else, I was so very deeply shocked & saddened to learn of Jimmy's passing. Too young. He was such a positive spirit, with such a delicious sense of humor. I'll always remember that about him. Very sorry I can't join my family in person to celebrate his life.

Jimmy was a great and sincere person. I had the honor to work with Jimmy on the department and also consider as a friend.
He will be missed. A truly wonderful human being!
