Not sure what to say?

Have only today discovered that Jim is no longer with us. He taught me, (at Sandown Greyhound Clinic),as a young vet in the early 80s, and I can testify to his boundless knowledge about greyhound diagnosis and treatment and his endless teaching patience toward me!

A wonderful vet and person. My belated condolences to his family and friends.

Rest in peace, Jim.

Joseph (Holmes Veterinary Surgeon).

"Dr gannon touched my life greatly,,, as an avid greyhound trainer in my younger days he educated me and others, to whom we owe so much in this sport of racing, and his overall hands on treatment of all animals and people he delt with in his time with us,,a true gentelman and will be missed emensley, "steve baker" nyora"

Dr. Gannon was brilliant and did an immeasurable amount of good for racing greyhounds. He was also a kind-hearted, caring gentleman, and it was always such a pleasure just to chat with him, regardless the topic. We'll dearly miss him.

Dr. Jim Gannon was one of the brightest men I have ever known or worked with. I had the opportunity to write 2 textbooks with him and was continually amazed at his knowledge and his willingness to help an American lady make the racing world a better place for Greyhounds. He never failed to answer a question I had or to provide material for the International Database of the American Greyhound Council. I have saved every email he ever wrote me and there are hundreds as we toiled to create...

Put simply, Dr.Gannon was a genius, his legacy will continue through all the great greyhound vets he trained or influenced throughout the world with his never to be matched knowledge of the racing greyhound. Sadly missed.

I remember meeting Dr Gannon when I was 12 years old and i am now 52. It was at Sandown Track Victoria. I can still remember everything he told my father when we use to visit him at the track. I have always thought "What a wonderful dedicated man" for the love of dogs. Karen from Greensborough.

I will always remember Dr Gannon for his genuin and generous personality while sharing his knowledge with others. Something he certainly did not have to do. It was his choice, just because he felt good about it.

Jim will be remembered for supporting the GTOBA Annual Melbourne Dinners at the Victorian Club

You did so much for the lives of many greyhounds with the adoption centres. The tiredless work you did to improve the lines around the world will only continue in years to come.
Jim - you will be sadly missed.
