Not sure what to say?

Linda and Family,
Grayson and I were deeply saddened when learning of Jim's passing. Grayson, of course, knew Jim for many years in school and around Emmaus as they were growing up. I got to know him through Grayson and our working together on their class reunions. We always enjoyed his presence and his contributions to the planning committee.
Our deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family on your loss. He was quite an honorable man, an excellent judge, and a...

Jim and I were classmates at Yale and Navy JAG (but unfortunately not at Yale Law) and PA Bar (I in Erie, so I never practiced before him). Always a friend and guide to excellence.

To the Gardner Family - I was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Allentown who appeared before Judge Gardner on a regular basis. I had the utmost respect for him as a jurist and as a human being. His careful and deliberate process in Court assured all that came into his Court Room that Justice was indeed being done. Rest In Peace Judge Gardner. It is So Ordered.

To the Gardner Family, my deepest condolences to all of you. I remember when I started working at Symphony Hall with the Schadt String competition. I was so impressed how much time, attention and care Judge Gardner would give to getting the script ready for the Finals Round of the competition. He would spend hours at lunch to go over the details. He was very meticulous for having the the phonetics correct for announcing the contestants' names from stage. God Bless you and your family Judge...

As I am not present at his funeral to honor Judge Gardner, I want to express condolences to his family. Having become acquainted with Judge Gardner while serving with him on the 15th Congressional District Military Academies Selection Board on several occasions, I always had the highest respect for him. He gave such respect to others. I realized what an intelligent, humble man he was. He was so gracious and interested in what others had to say. I once spoke to him about my being tapped...

Dear Linda, Chris, Andrea, Victoria, Stephanie, and Family,

Holding each of you and your family dear in Jack's and my hearts, with our thoughts, prayers, and overwhelming gratitude for our friendship with the Judge and all of you. Judge Gardner was a mentor to me in many ways--professional and personal--and I value the many hours of effort we spent over our 24 years together on the Symphony Board and the Executive, Nominating, and Governance Committees and our collective delight in...

Thinking about you Linda during this sad and difficult time. He was a special man. Barbara Mizdail

To the Gardner Family,

I had the pleasure of teaching your youngest daughter, Stephanie, across two years as she studied for her MFA. I was always impressed by her forthrightness, sense of community and intellectual curiosity. A few years later, I met James and Linda and began to see from where she inherited those great characteristics. Reading James Gardner's obituary just now only confirms my initial feelings. I remember not only a very gentle soul, but also a man with a warm sense...
