Not sure what to say?

Dear family of James. The first home exchange we did, was with James and his family (with Joey and Rachel, very young at that time), in Oregon, forty years ago or so. Jim was interested in coming to Belgium also because he wanted to visit Brussels in order to understand what was happening with the birth of the European Union. They first stayed a couple of days together with us in our house before we left for Oregon. I remember how traumatized he was when he had used our car to go from Bruges...

Hello Lynda, I was at starlight theater in 1964 with Jimmy Nelson who was the most delightful chorus co-member! I think he may have shared housing part of that summer with my dear friend Hal Watters who became a noted performer on Broadway after graduating from University of Oklahoma where he and I were in many musical and theatrical productions together. When my husband and I moved from NYC to Portland` in 1973, I contacted Jimmy and learned he was singing with Oregon Repertory Singers. We...

Such wonderful memories of a brilliant friend who was such fun and with whom so easy to have a good time. Remember with delight our early friendship, and sharing houses across the street. Saddened to hear of Jim´s death; we will be there on April 10.

I'm living in Belgium and in 1989, my wife and I and our 9 month old first child did our first house exchange with Jim and Lynda (and their children Rachel en Joe), who lived for three weeks in our house in Bruges. As they arrived a couple of days before we left for Portland, we had the chance to see each other, I remember us eating together in the house of my mother-in-law. At that time, Jim was working on the relations with the European Community and we remember his positiveness and...

Jim and Lynda were always a wonderful duo, providing great counsel, encouragement to me and all of our colleagues throughout the industry. Jim was kind, took time to explain his positions, work on solutions, and provide fair and honest counsel . Rest In Peace my friend.

I will always remember Jim for his brilliance, his kindness and his good heart.
He loved his family so very much.
RIP Jim.

I count Jim as a good friend and share the sadness of others with his passing.
Jim had high personal and professional standards for ethical behavior.
As, a new young lobbyist I learned that once Jim gave you a commitment you could count on him to keep his word. That is what honesty looks like.

As a 1st time staff person in the Oregon Senate I witnessed first hand Jim's courage, strenth of conviction and personal ethics. He introduced the first legislation establishing ...

Jim was so smart and fun! We were so happy to have him and Lynda for neighbours here in Provence. So many memories! We'll sure miss his great voice and laughter! We'll take care of Lynda when she's here and will always keep Jim on our mind.

As the description relates, Jim was brilliant, humble, and equipped with a great sense of humor and a memorable laugh. I had the good fortune of working with him during my time in the Legislature. He was straightforward, honest, and dependable; key traits that served him well and earned him deserved respect.
As recited in 2: Timothy 4:7, Jim fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. I am grateful that I got to know this wonderful and talented man. May his family...
